Now, with the NBN or National Broadband Network rollout, Australia is heading in the same direction of most advanced economies. This means the reliance on copper wire to transmit communication will become a thing of the past, as most premises, commercial and domestic, will be connected via Optic Fibre. Unfortunately, almost every alarm on the market in Australia requires copper wire to transmit communications to a monitoring centre. What happens if the phone lines are disabled for any reason? Unless the premises is installed with a costly GPRS unit, the alarm cannot transmit to the monitoring centre, rendering it useless. A standard alarm is required by Government decree to send a test signal to the monitoring centre every 24 hours for commercial, or 168 hours for domestic premises. The Emizon provides Grade 3 security by sending a test signal every 2 minutes and can be set up to Grade 2 security levels by transmittinf every 60 seconds.
